"way back when i was 4, i played this more than any other Amstrad game. It must have been the colourfull graphics, or maybe I was hypnotised by the sound effects. Still like it today."
Ritchardo mkII says
"One of my first games and I loved it! Sure the graphics flicker but they look gorgeous. Nice bright and colourful, the way computer games should look dang-nammit! It`s a super simplistic game and one I keep coming back to. Roland`s best effort by far!"
Briggsy says
"I loved this game, and played it to death. The best version of Fred by far, despite the slightly dodgy scrolling. Whilst not an amazing game it`s playable and colourful and a fondly remembered game for most CPC users."
Specfreak says
"Re-release of Fred by Indescomp S.A., originally released in 1983"

"A pleasant dose of nostalgia."
Robbo says
"Bloody difficult, bloody fun! Great colourful sprites are the order of the day and one of the biggest doses of nostalgia I am ever likely to experience!"
Hiro says
"Great game and my second favorite from the Amsoft free game pack (1st being Oh Mummy). Fun looking chunky graphics and great gameplay. Deserving of a quality remake."
Malc Jennings says
"Loved by some hated by many. Roland On The Ropes (in my opinion) was one of the best out of the Amsoft freebie pack and still holds strong today."

"This game was usually the first game people played when they got a CPC or even saw one running... and it was certainly good enough to convince people the machine was worth getting! It's certainly not perfect, but it plays okay for it's age and was hard enough to keep you interested."
