Winape 2.0a11 up for grabs

Dec
11
2006

It`s been a while since I posted emu news (despite there being plenty of activity) so for all the releases and updates in between this update and the last I`d recommend you check out the forums. Hopefully I`ll be able to keep on top of things a bit better in the near future - so apologies if you`re getting all your news from the main page here but I`d thoroughly recommend you have a look at the forums for a more up to the minute perspective!

Anyway, I digress: Richard Wilson has updated his ever improving and expanding WinAPE emulator and the new features this time round are:

  • Enhanced Tape File support
  • Improvements to the Assembler and Debugger
  • various bug fixes
  • general enhancements to the emulation.

For more info and to download the new file click here.

Thanks to Executioner for the news (and his hard work!).

WinAPE 2.08a arrives

May
21
2006

In a shocking development, Richard `Executioner` Wilson has released an almost instant update to his WinAPE emulator!

The last one may have been nearly two years in the making but he hasn`t wasted any time in bringing out the next version, a mere five days later!

2.0 alpha 7 has become outdated even quicker than the 664 with the release of 2.0 alpha 8, logically enough.

The new version irons out a few bugs that had crept into its predecessor and boasts a few new features of its own including:

  • Disassemble to file
  • Autorun of disc images

Full details, as usual, within the rtf file included in the download.

To download your copy, head over to Richard`s site:

May
05
2006

ZX-81 (the coder) is surely one of the fastest developers for the Sony PSP scene at the moment with yet *another* release of the Caprice port to the trusty handheld. Apparently this could be the final major release of the emulator with only the occasional bugfix to be addressed, here`s the new stuff:

  • CPC/PSP Keyboard mapping Editor using the virtual keyboard.
  • (You can now load, edit and save your .kbd file inside the emulator).
  • The name of the current game is now displayed in the emulator menu (this name is used as filename for all saved data such as keyboard file or quick save snapshots).
  • Bug fix in z80 emulator visible in batman game (couldn`t enter in some rooms)
  • Bug fix in virtual keyboard, several keys such as Copy or Capslock weren`t taken into account.

Grab it here, as usual two versions are included in the distribution for firmwares 1.5 and 2.0.

PSPCAP32 1.0.6

This guy just keeps pulling new releases of Caprice out of somewhere, this one missed our attention for a while as the author hadn`t updated the thread on the CPCZ forums. Here are the new bits:

  • Added Full screen (fit width), zoom x1.25 and x1.5 !
  • Added |CPM command support in the run.txt file
  • Option to swap the CPC joystick keys between PSP analog stick and d-pad

Obviously the usual distributions apply, one for firmware 1.5 and another for 2.0 (using the GTA exploit) grab them here.

  • PSPCAP32 v1.0.1 for PSP

    Apr
    22
    2006
A port of the ever popular Caprice32 has made its way on to the PSP via the homebrew wizardry of "zx-81". The software allows your PSP to emulate the 464, 664 and 6128 models, new features are pretty much standard (speed fixes, bug fixes etc). There`s even a version for 2.x firmwares that use the GTA Liberty City Stories exploit. Grab it and its source code here and then discuss it right here.
