Retro Gamer #46
25
2007
Just unwrapped my subs copy of Retro Gamer this morning with the rest of my Christmas Pressies (my g/f likes to do things like this - I was slightly less enchanted with the gas bill and pension leaflets but hey ho) and thought I`d summarise the CPC related content for anyone swithering over whether to pick this month`s copy up:
- Cover feature: "Huge Exclusive! Chase HQ II Only one copy exists on the GX4000 and we`ve played it!"
- Retrorevival: Express Raider on the CPC
Also slightly more tenuously:
- Making of Rick Dangerous I & II
- Box of Delights: 2 Hot 2 Handle
- Developer Lookback: Electronic Arts
- Making of Robocop
- Making of California Games
Obviously the biggest `news` there is the continuing saga of Chase HQ II and the confirmation that this is the real deal.
From a personal point of view, I would like to publicly apologise to James for any dis-satisfaction that my scepticism may have caused him, however, I hope that my explanation for my motives, which I provided to him at the time, was both acceptable and understandable.
Anyway, hopefully with this latest burst of publicity for CHQ2 we can drum up more support and methods for getting a copy of the game uploaded

And a very Merry Christmas to you all!

As if any other reason were needed, dedicated CPC fans will doubtless be interested in the contents of this month`s issue of Retro Gamer.
Issue #25 (priced £4.99 from all good newsagents... and some bad ones) features Sir Alan`s first foray into the world of personal computers as its featured platform and it gets a nifty seven page overview including a history of the machine written by David Crookes (known to lurk around our very own forums under the guise of Crookiemonster), a neat two page montage of 87 screenshots and the selection of Retro Gamer`s perfect 10.
For the impatient among you, they are:
- North and South
- Guild of Thieves
- Spindizzy
- Gryzor
- Total Eclipse
- Prince of Persia
- Fantasy World Dizzy
- Head Over Heels
- Get Dexter
- Chase HQ

CPC Zone : Retro-Site of the Week
30
2006
Our good friend Dave Crookes of Retro Gamer fame has just informed me that Micro Mart has featured CPC Zone as "Retro-Site of the Week". I`ve yet to see this but with any luck I`ll get to pick up a copy before the end of the week.
Here`s a quote from the official website
"Retro Website Of The Week
www.cpczone.net
"This week`s website is the home of CPC gaming on the net, and, without coincidence, also home to the CPC Gamebase which hopes to collect all available information on every single Amstrad CPC game ever, also allowing users to enter their own memories of their favourite and not so favourite CPC games from yesteryear. It also encourages former CPC developers, musicians and artists to get in touch to leave their own memories and provide that essential information that no one else can.
Like all good sites too, CPCZone has a great forum which is occupied by new and old CPC enthusiasts, so if you`re ever in the need to share memories or enjoy those moments of nostalgia then this site is definitely recommended."
